News: Apple considering ‘explicit’ options for App Store

Apple has said that it is considering an ‘explicit’ category for content distributed via its iTunes and App Store.

The move comes after the company removed thousands of applications depicting semi-nudity and innuendo, causing uproar amongst some developers who felt they had been punished for content that was previously given the green light.

Tech site Gizmodo first spotted the ‘explicit’ option on the App Store, which has since been removed, with a spokesperson confirming it was something that was being considered, although “it’s not going to happen any time soon.”
